In the last post we spoke about how to show related content from the blogosphere, however things are not in your control as all the plugins are automated, although they all keep the spam stuff away, still things can’t be trusted as much. Social media sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit are pretty useful in getting socially active with like minded people and can help you can get lot of traffic.
If you stumble the posts similar to your niche and display those stumbles in your blog posts then there are two benefits, one you will be able to make lot of stumble friends and that you’ll make those blogger’s as friends, whose posts you’ve stumbled. They’ll be notified as soon as the stumbled post will be displayed on your web pages. Once that will happen, they’ll come on your blog and will be able to read articles related to that niche and you will likely to get link backs too. Remember, this is only possible if you’ve got some really nice blog posts piled up in your archives.
How can I show recent stumbles on my blog ?
I’ll never get tired of boasting the fact WordPress is without a doubt the best blogging platform and that the community of developers is simply superb. There are many plugins through which you can display the latest stumbles on your blog. Here are some of them which will help you achieve the task -
1. WP_StumbleDigest : This plugin will automatically publish a post which will contain your recent stumbles. It won’t display the stumbles in your sidebar though. I will personally prefer to display the stumbles at the end of every post or in the sidebar as they’ll get more focus and will help you in getting traffic indirectly.
2. StumbleCrumble : This plugin displays the latest reviewed stumbles from your account in the sidebar. You can also display the stumbles anywhere else on the blog as it provides you the PHP code through which you can paste it any where in the theme.
I think these two plugins are more than enough to cater your needs as far as displaying the recent stumbles on your blog is concerned.
