Yesterday, I’d written a blog post called How to Blog and today, I read a post by Sonia Simone on CopyBlogger (I wonder where is Brian these days?) called 9 Little known traits of successful bloggers! She has written some amazing points and must read for every blogger. Although, one of the point which she mentioned was Don’t pay too much attention on “how to blog” articles and that caught my attention and here I’m to put my 2 cents on this particular point!
It’s great to absorb how-to articles that speak to you, and to try new techniques. But at the end of the day, the thing that makes your blog great is you. Don’t get so caught up in technique that you forget what makes your content worth reading (and talking about).
Absolutely correct and I fully agree with Sonia on this. There are now lot of blogs which talk about How to blog, however one should never forget that it’s actually the content which makes or breaks the blog. Apart from all the techniques of getting traffic, all SEO tricks etc. one should not forget to ensure that it’s the compelling content which will help in getting the name and fame which one deserves.
The point over here is that one should just not focus on what the successful bloggers or “how to blog” bloggers have to say. There is always a room for improvement, there will be always a creative technique of getting the traffic and no one is perfect. So, go ahead and experiment a lot and I’m sure you’ll have much better understanding of blogs and blogging world.
I always follow Copyblogger, ProBlogger, DailyBlogTips, BloggingTips and many other blogs and I try to improve the blog in the manner they suggest however, I keep on experimenting as well to ensure that I can come up with new tips and tricks which they’ve not spoken about and remember fresh tips will always work in your favor (see again the content is going to help you than the how to blog articles only)!
Apart from all this here’s one wonderful article by Sonia which you should read – It’s a how to article though : Email Marketing – how not to be dirty rotten spammer.
