Invesp consulting recently launched Blog Rank. This particular service lets you rank your blog against various established blogs in a particular niche. I thought of checking that where exactly our blog stands on this list and I was pretty happy to see that it stands on 18th spot (honestly, I wasn’t expecting that kind of ranking). If you want to find out that where exactly your blog ranks as compared to the players in your niche, then simply fill this form and you’ll get to know the value of your blog (according to BlogRank’s algorithm).
Where exactly the service is good -
Blogs at one place – Good thing about this kind of a service is that it lets you easily find out the bloggers of a particular niche and because they display stats as well, it becomes easier to find out that which blog is doing good and which aren’t. Even, Daniel thinks alike or should I say that I agree to him :P
Blog Rank is ranking around 30,000 blogs in 50 categories and they are planning to expand in 500 categories. This shows that they are planning to make a comprehensive directory of bloggers, who care about their blog(s).
Why I doubt the service -
When you’ll see Problogger.net placed at 9th rank then you start to have doubts over the service. I was shocked to see Problogger.net at 9th number. There are few blogs who’ve got stats that are way behind Darren’s blog and are still ranked better than his. How is that possible?
My overall reaction -
I personally doubt their algorithm, however I think that this Blog Rank will serve the purpose of a blog directory in a better way. I’ll surely not recommend it as a place to compare the blogs. As a suggestion, I’ll also suggest them to place a weekly change section as well. That way, a blogger will find the progress report of their blog and that will surely increase the usefulness of the service.
