Did you hear about that Adobe AIR Application which lets you moderate comments on a WordPress based blog ? I guess a week (or so) back, Daniel Dura created an application called “Moderator” for the same. This gave me an idea that why not have the whole WordPress panel features built in any Adobe AIR application ?

What’s the fun in that ?

1. It’ll be perfect desktop blogging client - Imagine that you get the ability to post, edit, moderate comments, change settings of your blog all from Windows Live Writer, Ecto or any other blogging client. Will you ever go and login to your blog’s WordPress dashboard ?

2. Platform Independent - I used to avoid switching to Linux or Mac just because of one simple reason, I was too comfortable with Windows Live Writer and I firmly believe that there is no blogging client which is near to Windows Live Writer. It’s just perfect. Anyway, I’m not here to talk about Windows Live Writer, we’ll do that some other time. What I want to say is that Adobe AIR applications can be run on any of the platform (at least - Windows, Mac & Linux) and this will ensure that the application will be widely accepted and the time won’t be wasted of the developer who decides to work on such a project.

What do you think, will it make sense to have such an application or are you fine with WordPress Turbo feature and applications like Moderator ?
