Our very own Jeff has once again, posted a short and sweet write up about Follow Friday campaign (of course, his thoughts were provoked by Andrew Mueller and who in-turn got motivated by Seth Simonds) that rules twitter on every Friday and across all the continents (of course, there is no official confirmation about the fact if this guy actually tweeted from antarctica or not).
FollowFriday is one of the tweet meme, where users recommend their friends or twitter users to their followers. This started of really well, however now it seems that it’s becoming more like a ego booster or like you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours! There are various services as well which keep a track of who are the most recommended users by people.
Jeff came up with the idea of suggesting one person at a time and also provide the reasons that why your followers should follow that guy. In fact, the idea looks very much like YayMen initiative taken by some of the active Twitter Girls – Unitechy, LimeIce, SpitPhyre, Punkpolkadots, Shaktijs and many others..
So can we have certain categories where we can recommend the users on basis of those categories? Of course, while we are doing it, we will only recommend one person and that should really solve the problem of “some what spammy follow friday”. What are your thoughts about the same? Do you think that Twitter should be left alone and shouldn’t have any formal rules or you think that it definitely needs to be different than any other social network on the internet (facebook?)

Wow Mayank. Thanks for the mention! We sure are glad to see a nod to us for something as vital to Twitter as the FollowFriday meme.

P.S: Neat theme!
