Google comes with some fun little things every now and then. This time on their 10th birthday, they are allowing you to search the web the way it was in 2001. The idea of this post came from Mani, who found out that there was no SEO back in 2001. I thought that I’d do a search of WordPress and will try and find out that what comes up, when searched for the keyword “WordPress”.
My little fun research shows that WordPress was part of WordTech Communications, which is/was a new, independent literary press in Cincinnati, Ohio!
Interestingly, there were 86 search results when searched for the keyword “WordPress” and even interesting that Google returned 3 results when searched for “WordPress themes”!
Although, it’s a different thing altogether that WordPress itself was launched in 2003. If you want to know about the history of WordPress then this wonderful article from WikiPedia will help you a lot.
Another thing which I found out was that back in 2001, Google didn’t know if I was available on this earth or not and now it knows that the most important Mayank on this earth is me! And yes back then Google didn’t know that who is the real Matt. Till few days back, Google knew that Matt Mullenweg was the real Matt, till it was replaced by Where the Hell is Matt.
