Actually this is too complicated… Simple thing to do would be to do it from your wordpress dashboard.
1) Create a new user with admin privleges.
2) Delete admin user and wordpress will automatically ask u to re-assign posts to another author.
Done!
Dilip, I was unable to delete the original admin user after creating a new one with admin privileges.
The lancelhoff tutorial worked great for me.
