Most of our readers, must be aware of bbPress. For those who don’t know about bbPress, let me enlighten you. It’s a light-weight forum software that is available for free and is from the makers of “WordPress “. It competes with phpBB, Vanilla, SMF and other open-source forum softwares. I prefer bbPress over others as this forum software is by Automattic team and syncs well with WordPress.
The time has come when Brian Gardner has launched the next phase of Revolution theme. The theme is open source and probably the idea of making it free was that it did good enough and helped Brian in making lot of money and now I guess he wants to concentrate more on Custom WordPress theme design.
Brian Gardner, the creator of wonderful and first ever Premium theme i.e. Revolution theme has made a major move and has converted Revolution theme in a free theme/open-source. All the premium themes will be taken down by Brian, so that the buyer of the themes won’t feel cheated and will continue to support the paid users as well.
People who know me personally would know that I’m a firm believer of the fact that videos and screencasts are going to be pretty huge on the internet and that they will play important role in the success of any blog. I was fortunate enough to conduct an e-mail interview with Michael Pick. Michael recently joined Automattic(the company behind WordPress, bbPress, BuddyPress, Akismet etc.) as a LightBulb Engineer (Michael has explained the idea behind this enlightening position in this interview itself) and his job is to create Screencasts for WordPress. Prior to taking up the job at Automattic, Michael used to run Smash Cut Media – where he offered professional screencasting services.

1. Which software do you use or recommend for creating screencasts ?
WordPress is without a doubt the best blogging platform ever built however, there is one section of the internet which is one of the oldest way of building the community and that is forums. Forums are amazingly good when it comes to user generated content and the sense of community flows around them much more than the blogs.
