Our beloved reader, Human3rror asked a question and I thought that it would be great to write a blog post on the same topic and instead of just letting the question die in comments. The answer to Human3rror’s question is that I use PlanetOZH’s Better Feed plugin and I believe that by far it’s one of the most powerful feed footer plugin available for WordPress.

This wonderful plugin allows you to make changes in the feed’s footer and allows you to put Copyright notice, secret links and just about anything you can imagine. It doesn’t have a WYSIWYG editor, however gives lots of options that makes it the best in the list feed’s footer plugins. Now, let me share other plugins that are related to feeds and help you in sorting various things you always wanted to do with your feeds.

1. Google Adsense for Feeds – This plugin allows you to display Google Adsense in your feeds and thus helps you in increasing the revenue through Google Adsense.

2. CopyFeed – This wonderful plugin, not only adds copyright notice to the feed’s footer but also adds a simple and unique digital fingerprint and lets you search through various search engines to avoid content theft. So, this wonderful plugin will surely help in finding out that who else is copying your content. Now, I’ll be only flattered to find that out if someone else is using my content (just kiddin’! I know how to use DMCA – LOL).

3. Feed Styler – It is for the advanced users who are comfortable with CSS. This plugin allows you to have different style or colors for the same content in feeds that you published on your WordPress blog.

4. Feed Key – If you want to restrict the feed of your blog/cms to members only then this plugin will surely keep you happy. This plugin will generate a unique key for every member that will be linked to their email address and thus is a great way of keeping it limited to members only blogs.

5. Feed Layout – This plugin is capable of doing almost everything that Better Feed (the one I use) can do and so it is also one of the prominent players in the WordPress plugin field. Although, it isn’t that popular as Better feed plugin.

Feed Wrangler – This plugin takes the feeds one step ahead and allows you to create custom feed URLs for various things. Here’s the description of features of this plugin from the developer himself and I’m sure that it is by far the best explanation one can get.

* You want a custom URL to access a feed by (i.e. “/feed/misterspecialfeed” )
* You want some feeds to bypass Feedburner redirect.
* A sponsor asks you to place an ad in your feed
* You need a clean, ad-free feed to provide a partner (see Amazon Kindle), that doesn’t go through FeedBurner or is customized in any way.
* You prefer adding and editing feeds in a way more analogous to Movable Type
