Flickr is without a doubt one of the most thriving community amongst photographers, bloggers and in general who is interested in sharing the photos with friends & family. You may want to display Flickr photos on your blog in order to share those photos with your blog readers.
There are many plugins available for WordPress which help you display the images from Flickr account without much efforts or which can help you make use of the images which are marked under creative commons license in various blog posts. Here are some of the well known and usable Flickr-WordPress plugins :
1. Simple Flickr : This is an excellent plugin written by Josh which displays the Flickr photoset in a wonderful and simple gallery which is powered by Flash based image viewing application called SimpleViewer. Although, it’s big enough that it will need a separate dedicated page for it. It doesn’t work in sidebar, until you have a huge sidebar.
2. WordPress Flickr Manager : Another wonderful plugin for Flickr/WordPress which allows you to include images from Flickr in your blog posts. It inserts thumbnails in the blog posts and once some one clicks on the image, it opens up in a new ajaxy window which is powered by well known LightBox script.
3. iFlickr : If you want to include the flickr images which are licensed under creative commons then iFlickr plugin is a wonderful option. This plugin includes the images and automatically credits the owner too, which is of course one of the requirement of the CC License. There are some other features like it downloads the image on your server only, so the pages load a bit faster.
4. FlickrRSS : This plugin allows you to display Flickr images in the sidebar with ease. So, if you are looking for a plugin which provides you the simplest way of showcasing the Flickr images in sidebar then you should consider this for sure.
Do you display the Flickr stream in your blog ? If yes, then why and how it benefits your blog ?
