There are many blog posts where we may need to display those huge images, however we can’t display those huge images in full size as they tend to break the design of the whole blog post (ofcourse, it’s actually depends on theme’s design). So, the question arises that what’s the best solution of displaying those huge images and that too without breaking the whole blog post’s design ?
Well the answer to that is you can display a thumbnail of the image or scale the image down to the point that it doesn’t break the design of the blog post and when someone clicks on that image, it get enlarged. By default WordPress does that however, it takes the visitor away from the blog post and display the image only.
So what’s the real solution then ?
There are plugins which help you display the larger version of images in a LightBox type Ajax window and here are some of the wonderful plugins by some wonderful developers :
1. Slimbox : It’s an excellent plugin based on Slimbox script. It’s been made smaller in size and gives exactly the same effect which you get in the LightBox script. The plugin is simple to use and by adding small attribution to the image tag, you’ll be able to get the effect.
3. NextGen Gallery : Without a doubt the best plugin ever made for WordPress. This plugin is a CMS in itself. It acts a complete image gallery for WordPress and if you include some images in a gallery then it can display those images with Lightbox effect.
There are many more plugins which can easily help you in enhancing the blogging experience when it comes to images and WordPress plugin directory is without a doubt has the most comprehensive list of the plugins. Do spend some time over there and you’ll start feeling as if you are master of WordPress.
